ONE MAN WENT TO MO SISTAS

WEIGHT TO GO

Begin with the End in Mind

Hair Test 4 Life

Actions Speak Louder Than Words. Knowledge Is Power. The Power of an Hour. Track and Trace. Race 4 Life.

A Community That Cares

ONE MAN WENT TO MO SISTAS is a proposed community wellbeing initiative bringing people together to encourage health awareness, practical action, positive habits and support for people affected by cancer.

Our three connected themes are Weight to Go, Begin with the End in Mind and Hair Test 4 Life.

We believe that change begins by understanding where we are, deciding where we would like to go and taking realistic steps towards our goals.

Weight to Go explores sustainable habits around food, movement, routine and personal wellbeing. Begin with the End in Mind encourages people to identify what matters to them and work backwards towards achievable goals. Hair Test 4 Life brings hair and scalp awareness into the conversation, encouraging people to take their concerns seriously and seek appropriate advice.

These themes are educational and supportive. They do not promise to prevent or cure cancer, diagnose disease or replace professional healthcare.

ABOUT: Begin with the End in Mind

Begin with the End in Mind is about having a clear purpose.

Before making a change, consider what you hope to achieve. Perhaps you want to feel more confident, build a regular walking habit, improve your relationship with food, understand changes in your hair or make more time for family and friends.

The goal should be personal, realistic and appropriate for your circumstances.

Instead of concentrating only on a number on the scales, you might focus on energy, mobility, sleep, confidence or consistency. Progress can include learning what works for you, recognising when you need support and changing your plan when circumstances change.

This approach is not about perfection or blaming people for their health challenges. Weight, hair and wellbeing can be influenced by many factors, including genetics, hormones, medication, illness, disability, stress, finances and access to suitable food or facilities.

Our message is to start with understanding, make informed decisions and take one step at a time.

WEIGHT TO GO: Your Journey, Your Goals

Weight to Go is a proposed educational wellbeing strand encouraging healthier, sustainable routines without shame or unrealistic promises.

It may explore everyday food choices, enjoyable physical activity, hydration, sleep, stress management and the habits that help people maintain routines over time.

Participants can set individual goals and review them through voluntary Track and Trace reflections. For example, someone might aim to take a regular walk, prepare more balanced meals, drink fluids appropriate to their needs or plan a consistent bedtime.

There is no single ideal weight or diet for everyone. Calorie requirements and suitable activity levels differ, and restrictive diets can be inappropriate or harmful for some people.

We do not prescribe extreme calorie limits, promise rapid weight loss or suggest that weight determines a person’s worth. Anyone who needs a personalised weight-management plan, particularly someone with a medical condition, a history of disordered eating or changing health needs, should seek advice from a qualified healthcare professional or registered dietitian.

Weight to Go is about progress rather than punishment, and long-term habits rather than quick fixes.

HAIR TEST 4 LIFE: Understand Your Hair

Hair is personal. It can influence identity, confidence and how we feel about ourselves.

Hair Test 4 Life is a proposed strand within Hair Decode that encourages people to understand their hair and scalp concerns and consider appropriate next steps.

Hair shedding, thinning, changes in texture and scalp irritation can have many possible causes. These may include genetics, hormonal changes, illness, medication, styling practices and nutritional factors.

A hair sample or hair mineral analysis cannot diagnose cancer, identify every nutritional deficiency or provide a complete picture of someone’s internal health. Results must not be treated as a substitute for a medical history, validated tests or clinical assessment.

If hair loss is sudden, persistent, severe or unexplained, seek advice from a GP or appropriately qualified professional. People experiencing hair changes during cancer treatment should ask their oncology team about suitable care.

Where a hair testing service is offered, clients should be told exactly what is tested, what the laboratory can and cannot establish, how results are interpreted and when referral to a healthcare professional is appropriate.

Our principle is simple: We never guess hair loss; we encourage informed investigation.

Hair Test 4 Life is an awareness and hair-care concept, not a cancer screening service.

HOW THE THREE THEMES WORK TOGETHER

Weight to Go focuses on everyday routines and realistic wellbeing goals.

Begin with the End in Mind helps participants identify their priorities and decide on manageable next steps.

Hair Test 4 Life creates an opportunity to discuss hair and scalp changes, understand the limits of testing and seek appropriate advice.

Together, these themes encourage people to take an active role in their wellbeing while recognising that not every health concern can be resolved through lifestyle changes.

They are connected by one principle: knowledge should help people make better-informed decisions, not create fear or false reassurance.

TRACK AND TRACE: Notice, Reflect and Act

Track and Trace is a proposed personal reflection tool.

Participants may choose to record habits such as movement, sleep, hydration, eating patterns, social connection and personal goals. They can review their progress and decide what they would like to maintain or change.

The purpose is to notice patterns and support realistic goal-setting. It is not a medical diagnostic system, and it cannot predict or detect cancer.

Participation should be voluntary. Personal information should remain private, and any feedback collected for programme evaluation should be explained clearly and handled responsibly.

PURE HYDRATION: Everyday Awareness

Pure Hydration encourages informed conversations about fluids and everyday routines.

Water is essential for normal bodily functions, but fluid needs vary according to activity, weather, diet and health. Some people need individual advice because of medical conditions or treatment.

The programme should not promote excessive drinking, rigid targets for everyone or claims that hydration detoxifies the body or treats cancer.

Our aim is to encourage sensible habits and professional advice when needed.

THE POWER OF AN HOUR

You do not have to change everything at once.

One hour could be spent preparing a realistic weekly plan, going for a walk, learning about hair and scalp care, supporting a friend or helping somebody find reliable health information.

It could also be an opportunity to listen to someone affected by cancer or support a community activity.

The Power of an Hour turns intentions into practical steps. Activities, facilitators, funding and venues will be confirmed before launch.

FOUR SEASONS: A Year of Progress

Spring — Begin: Set a realistic goal and decide what matters to you.

Summer — Participate: Build enjoyable routines and connect with others.

Autumn — Review: Reflect on progress and make adjustments where needed.

Winter — Recharge: Allow time for rest, support and planning.

These seasonal themes provide structure for reflection rather than prescribing a medical programme.

OUR COMMUNITY COMMITMENT

ONE MAN WENT TO MO SISTAS welcomes people who want to learn, participate and support one another.

There is no requirement to have a particular weight, hair type, health history or personal experience of cancer. People should be treated with dignity, and participation should never depend on disclosing private information.

Our values are awareness, respect, transparency and evidence-informed choices.
